Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Kitchen Supervisor to oversee daily kitchen operations, ensure food quality, and maintain a safe and efficient work environment. Kitchen or Production Supervisor who must have undergone each of the following:
M4.1 Apprenticeship cook training, holds recognized journeyperson cook papers; and
M4.2 Has at least three (3) years recent (within the last ten (10) years) supervisory experience in managing food service operations.
To demonstrate this experience, the Offeror must provide a résumé and supporting documents demonstrating the experience and qualifications of the Kitchen/Production Supervisor.
If the information is not provided with the Offer, the Offeror must submit the information to the Contracting Authority’s attention within two (2) days of request from PWGSC.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a passion for culinary excellence. This role is vital in delivering exceptional dining experiences and supporting the kitchen team to operate smoothly and effectively.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and service of meals
- Monitor food quality, presentation, and safety standards in compliance with health regulations
- Assist in menu planning, inventory management, and ordering supplies to maintain optimal stock levels
- Train new staff members on kitchen procedures, safety protocols, and customer service standards
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen areas in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Manage shift schedules, assign tasks, and oversee staff performance to promote a productive work environment
- Collaborate with management to develop operational strategies that improve efficiency and customer satisfaction
Requirements
- Proven experience in a culinary or kitchen supervisory role, with strong knowledge of food preparation and safety standards
- Excellent leadership and communication skills to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory control and quality assurance
- Knowledge of health regulations, sanitation practices, and safety procedures in food service operations
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including weekends or holidays if required
- Certification in food safety or related training is preferred but not mandatory
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 5 months
Pay: $17.75-$28.50 per hour
