Lab Technician-Temporary

Position Title: Lab Technician – Temporary Department: Laboratory Location: North Dakota Mill- Grand Forks, ND Compensation: $20.00/hour

Position Summary: The ND Mill is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Temporary Lab Technician to support daily laboratory operations and assist in maintaining product quality. This position plays an important role in performing analytical testing, preparing samples, and ensuring laboratory accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform grain grading and related quality assessments.

• Conduct physical testing for protein, moisture, and ash content.

• Accurately record and enter test data using computer systems.

• Operate, clean, and properly maintain a variety of laboratory instruments and equipment.

• Adhere to established laboratory procedures and safety protocols.

• Collaborate effectively with team members and work independently as needed.

• Assist other laboratory staff with daily operations and special projects.

• Perform additional duties as assigned to support laboratory functions.

Qualifications:

• Basic understanding of math, chemistry, and biology principles.

• Proficiency with computers and Windows-based programs.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.

• Ability to follow laboratory procedures with precision and attention to detail.

• Awareness of laboratory and plant safety practices.

Education and Experience:

• Associate degree in a technical or scientific field preferred.

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a laboratory or baking industry environment preferred.

• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Temporary Employment Status: Temporary work status is defined as an employee who is hired for a pre-determined period, for a maximum of five (5) months. Plant needs or unexpected changes in work requirements may shorten or extend the actual period of employment. The temporary worker is expected to understand and accept these conditions of employment.

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
