Legal Counsel

We’re seeking a Legal Counsel (Digital Asset Derivatives & Trading) to support our Singapore legal function across commercial, corporate, and regulatory matters — with a strong focus on derivatives and financial markets documentation for digital asset trading and market-making activities.

You’ll work closely with Senior Legal Counsel across a multi-entity group structure with counterparties including leading institutional crypto trading firms, blockchain foundations and regulated financial institutions.

What you’ll be doing

• Draft, review, and negotiate ISDAs, CSAs, digital asset derivative agreements, NDAs, and other trading documents.
• Support structuring and execution of OTC derivatives and structured transactions.
• Identify and escalate regulatory issues under MAS, VARA, EMIR, and Dodd-Frank frameworks.
• Maintain template libraries and playbooks, tracking negotiation cycle times and counterparty trends.
• Manage BAU contracts with vendors and service providers; partner with Finance on procurement and credit protections.
• Oversee corporate housekeeping and partner with Compliance on KYC-AML updates, audits, and inquiries.
• Provide ad-hoc support on disputes, enforcement actions, and asset recovery matters.

Preferred background

• LLB or equivalent, admitted in a common-law jurisdiction; eligible to work in Singapore.
• 3–7 years PQE, ideally in banking, derivatives, digital assets, fintech, or capital markets.
• Proven experience owning commercial and trading contracts, and partnering with Compliance, Finance, and Trading teams.

• Skilled in drafting, negotiation, and regulatory analysis.
• Calm and pragmatic, able to execute under pressure with minimal supervision.
• Effective communicator who turns complex risk into clear business advice.

Nice to Have

• Experience in a crypto trading firm, exchange, or financial institution.
• Familiarity with MAS, VARA, or other digital-asset regimes.
• Exposure to structured products, custody, or legal ops tooling.
