Logistics Coordinator

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Coordinator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the supply chain process, ensuring efficient warehouse distribution, and optimizing transportation management. This position requires strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of logistics operations to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness.

Duties

• Coordinate and oversee logistics operations including shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
• Manage relationships with suppliers, vendors, and third-party logistics providers (3PL) to ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) to plan and execute transportation strategies effectively.
• Conduct data analysis for demand planning, inventory control, and process improvement initiatives.
• Implement warehouse management systems (WMS) to streamline warehouse distribution processes.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers and service providers to optimize costs.
• Monitor freight costs and manage budgets related to logistics operations.
• Perform root cause analysis on supply chain disruptions and develop strategies for resolution.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations in materials handling and warehouse management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production planning and order fulfillment activities.

Skills

• Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Tableau, SQL, and Excel for effective decision-making.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles including procurement, sourcing, and category management.
• Experience in warehouse distribution processes including shipping & receiving, inventory management, and stocking procedures.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (such as AS400) and MRP for effective materials management.
• Excellent negotiation skills for vendor management and contract discussions.
• Ability to analyze transportation planning strategies for cost-effectiveness.
• Understanding of e-commerce logistics requirements and freight operations.
• Mechanical knowledge related to equipment used in logistics operations is a plus.
