Modern Printers are one of the leading print companies in the South East based in Kilkenny city. With over 65 years’ experience servicing the Kilkenny and greater areas, due to growth, we now have an opportunity to hire a Machine Operator to join our print finishing team.

This is a permanent role working 9am – 5:30pm Monday to Thursday and 9am – 4:30pm Friday.

We are an established and stable company with a strong customer base and can offer long term security, training and development to the successful candidate.

Working with the most up to date machinery you will have the opportunity to train with experienced professionals and develop your skills in all aspects of print finishing.

Full training will be provided in this role.

Key duties will include:

• Machine operation and hand finishing of print products
• Set up, operate, and monitor print finishing machinery
• Conduct regular quality control checks
• Shadowing and training with experienced colleagues
• Use various equipment/machinery to finish the job to the exact customer standards
• Assist in other departments when necessary
• Maintain a courteous and “can-do” attitude with internal and external customers and other staff members

Experience and Qualifications:

• Print, print finishing or machine operation experience preferred
• Mechanical operation experience/mechanical mindset preferred
• Secondary School Leaving Certificate qualification or equivalent is preferred
• Work experience in a fast-paced customer focused environment
• A practical mindset, capable of learning new machines and technologies quickly
• Hard work and willing to learn can make up for lack experience
• A keen interest to build a career in an established industry and learn from the ground up
• Expend good time management and multitasking skills to ensure that tasks get completed on time.
