Maintenance Supervisor

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Maintenance Supervisor to join our vehicle sustainment team in Aviano, Italy.

The selected candidate will provide maintenance and logistics support to multiple families of vehicles globally on the Allied Logistics Engineering Capabilities Sustainment (ALECS) program.

*Important Note*: Selected candidates require favorable completion and receipt of Technical Representative (TR) from the Italian Lander. TR Approval Organization. Any stated date is an approximate projection based upon the eleven (11) week TR review cycle.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Plans, directs, or coordinates the maintenance operations for assigned technical task or function; solves complex problems by taking a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.

  • Duties and responsibilities include formulating maintenance policies, managing daily maintenance operations, and planning the use of materials and human resources; works with functional area leads on the management or administration of personnel; repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks, or tractors. Performs preventive maintenance on assigned vehicles (e.g., oil changes, greasing, and inspection of hoses, belts, fluids, and wiring).

  • Performs repairs by disassembling and overhauling engines, transmissions, clutches, rear ends, and other assemblies; replaces worn or broken parts, aligns wheels, adjusts brakes, tightens bearings, tunes engines, and performs minor body work.

  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures and holds appropriate certification as may be required by law.

  • Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services; solves complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions; requires conceptual and practical expertise in own area and general knowledge of related areas; has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate the company in the market.

  • Impacts a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams; works within broad guidelines and policies and explains complex, difficult and/or sensitive information; works to build consensus.

  • Requires in-depth knowledge and experience; works independently, receives minimal guidance; acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; acts as a resource for other team members; may lead projects with limited risks and resource requirements and will perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 9+ years of qualified experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field (OR) 15+ years of experience.

  • Proven maintenance, repair and technical experience and background in industrial manufacturing, commercial maintenance or military operations or maintenance as well as proven communicator in verbal and written disciplines.

  • Mechanical and electronic troubleshooting skills to diagnose, align, and repair failed and damaged systems.

  • Experience providing formal, over-the-shoulder, and on-the-spot training to contractor and unit personnel and office productivity tools such as Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to successfully pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screening, meet the government deployment physical requirements, travel to hostile areas.

  • Position requires moderate to lengthy travel to various US or OCONUS locations, must be able to meet all government Individual Replacement Deployment Operations (IRDO) requirements for foreign travel into operational locations.

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED and possess a Valid Driver’s License for the location in which the work will be performed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience on non-tactical/commercial vehicle fleets and/or military shall be with light or heavy-duty trucks, tractors, tactical vehicles, ground systems.

  • Prior training or maintenance experience on MRAP FOV systems preferred.

  • Preferably familiar or knowledgeable with MRAP/RCV systems.

  • Prior training on Non – Standard Commercial Vehicles (NSCV) i.e. Toyota, Polaris.

  • Prior training on the CROWS Weapon Station.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be a US citizen and have a current/active Secret clearance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to balance, bend, carry, crouch, stretch and kneel.

  • Must be able to push, pull, and reach.

  • Must be able to work in high noise areas.

  • Must be able to lift 50lbs and small parts.

  • Must be able to work with computers and CRTs, and type on a computer keyboard.
