Maintenance Technician In Senior Living

Duties

  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), and other building systems to ensure optimal operation.
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues related to electrical systems, including wiring, circuit breakers, switches, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
  • Conduct welding and fabrication tasks as needed to repair or modify equipment and structural components.
  • Read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to accurately diagnose problems and implement solutions.
  • Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software to document work orders, track maintenance activities, and schedule future inspections.
  • Lead facilities maintenance projects such as painting, carpentry, or small-scale renovations to improve community aesthetics and functionality.
  • Supervise or assist with residential painting projects to maintain the property's appearance standards.
  • Operate testing tools like ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting and ensure safety compliance across all maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with team members to coordinate repairs efficiently while providing excellent customer service to residents and staff.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, building codes, and company policies.

Skills

  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret schematics and technical diagrams.
  • Proficiency in electrical systems troubleshooting using tools such as ohmmeters and understanding of PLCs for automation tasks.
  • Skilled in welding techniques for metal repairs or fabrication projects.
  • Experience with facilities maintenance within residential or senior living environments.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to equipment repair or fabrication is a plus.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and effective teamwork.
  • Leadership experience or supervising skills to coordinate maintenance activities efficiently.
  • Familiarity with CMMS software for work order management and record keeping.
  • Competence in performing residential painting tasks with attention to detail.
