We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our facilities team. This role is essential in ensuring that campus buildings, equipment, and systems operate safely, efficiently, and without interruption.

About the Role

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and building systems across the university campus. You will play a key role in ensuring a safe and functional environment for students, staff, and researchers.

Key Responsibilities

Inspect and maintain machines, tools, and campus equipment

Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and technical faults

Repair or replace damaged components and systems as required

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to reduce breakdowns

Test equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation

Respond to urgent breakdowns and maintenance requests

Work with engineers, contractors, and operational staff to improve system performance

Maintain accurate maintenance logs, reports, and compliance documentation

Follow all workplace health, safety, and risk management procedures

Work Environment

University campus buildings and facilities

Workshops, laboratories, and plant rooms

Occasional field-based or on-call maintenance work

Exposure to a variety of systems including HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and building services

Combination of planned maintenance and reactive repair work

What We’re Looking For

Qualification in mechanical, electrical, building services, or related trade

Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team

Good understanding of health and safety standards

Experience in facilities maintenance, engineering, or industrial environments is an advantage

Strong communication and record-keeping skills

Reliable, practical, and detail-oriented approach to work
