Position Summary
The primary role of the Manager of Accounts Receivable is to effectively manage Accounts Receivable teams and support the specific collection processes for their assigned clients. The Manager is responsible for helping their team facilitate accurate and timely receipt of revenue. Proactively, the Manager should respond to changing trends to identify areas of opportunity to increase the efficiencies of our department processes and optimize collection rates. This individual will become a subject matter expert in all areas relevant to our clients’ billing and revenue cycles, with particular focus on ensuring effective exchanges with various payers to maximize timely collections and payments. In this role, the individual will be expected to provide support to Analysts, Team Leads, and Supervisors in order to help them achieve their goals. The Manager is expected to utilize a variety of report tools including Qlik and MIDAS in order to measure individual, team, and client performance. In this role, individuals will be expected to perform coaching and performance management tasks to ensure their team performs at their best.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of assigned teams
- Coach team in researching complex billing, claim processing, and reimbursement issues
- Identify trends through the compilation and analysis of data
- Propose solutions and enhancements to areas of opportunity realized
- Report findings and escalate issues to leadership, Account Management, and other stakeholders
- Present professional communications around results achieved
- Create and utilize control and status reports utilizing Qlik, MIDAS, and other ad hoc reporting to monitor client activity and team operations
- Perform evaluations and provide regular feedback on individual performance
- Assist the Director in training and mentoring leaders throughout the Accounts Receivable team in addition to effectively documenting workflows and resolution steps
- Continuously update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications and maintaining personal networks
- Ensure confidentiality of all patient accounts by following HIPAA guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- College degree required
- Strong leadership and coaching skills
- Flexibility to manage multiple high priority tasks
- Supporting and developing projects that impact the department and the business
- Solid communication skills
- Working knowledge of Qlik perferred
- Proficiency with MS Office Products, advanced Excel knowledge required
- Analytical and results driven
- Medical billing experience preferred
- Understanding of HIPAA policies and procedures
