Conductive Education Southern is seeking a Manager to lead and promote the organisation to achieve their vision of Maximising the Ability in Disability.
About Conductive Education
Conductive Education is a skill development programme designed to enhance the quality of life for people with motor disorders. It’s based on the theory that the brain has a vast capacity to modify its connections or re-wire itself - this process known as neuroplasticity means brain activity associated with a given function can be transferred to a different location through repetition. For this reason Conductive Education works on the basis that no matter how severe their impairment, everyone can learn with the right support and motivation.
Our team work alongside individuals of all ages and their families to develop a programme to encourage and support people to achieve their goals.
About the Role
The Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the Conductive Education service and providing the link between it and the Trustees. Key activities of the Manager role include:

You will be passionate about the work we do and ensure we continue to provide an environment where individuals achieve their goals and aspirations and maximise their ability. Some understanding of the Enabling Good Lives principles would be an advantage.
This a part-time role of 20 hours per week which can be worked flexibly between 9.00 – 5.00pm, Monday to Friday, onsite.

About the Role

- providing a welcoming environment for clients and their families/caregivers
- managing the team (Administrator and Conductor)
- completing funding applications and accountability reports
- investigating other funding opportunities
- monthly invoicing and other financial administration tasks
- reporting to the Trustees and attending meetings
- attending Ministry of Health meetings as required
- promoting Conductive Education in the community.
About You
For success in this role you will have:
- strong Southland community connections
- excellent verbal and written communication skills to promote our programme and engage with the community
- marketing and promotion experience that you can utilise to grow our profile and client base
- interpersonal communication skills which enable you to interact comfortably with our clients and their caregivers
- financial administration experience would be preferred, including familiarity with Xero.
