This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career as a Manufacturing Automation Controls Engineer you will:
- Design, implement, and maintain control systems that optimize manufacturing processes
- Identify opportunities for manufacturing process automation and optimization
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product manufacturing requirements and machinery design specifications.
- Ensure automated systems comply with relevant safety, environmental and industry standards (e.g., IEC, ISO, MD etc.)
- Create requirements and robust designs to meet business needs, while developing validation and verification plans which ensure functionality and reliability.
- Generate detailed User Requirements Specifications for any outsourced automated solutions.
- Provide technical support during equipment commissioning and production ramp-up.
- Problem solving, planning, analytical skill with the ability to collate, analyze and summarize data.
- Be someone who shows initiative and is creative.
Required personality and qualifications for this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant Engineering technical discipline (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or other related field).
- 3+ years’ experience in manufacturing automation and/or controls engineering.
- An excellent team player who is comfortable working in a team environment that involves a lot of cross-functional interaction.
- High paced individual who is eager and passionate in developing and delivering solutions in close collaboration with key stakeholders
- Readily accepts ownership, accountability, and responsibility.
- Proficiency in programming PLCs (e.g., Siemens S7, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi)
- Experience with HMI/SCADA platforms (e.g. Wonderware, Ignition, WinCC)
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet TCP/IP, Profibus, RFID)
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, instrumentation and control theory.
- Knowledge of safety systems (e.g., SIL, machine guarding, safe zones, emergency stops, light curtains etc.)
- Python, C++, or other scripting languages for data analysis or custom interfaces.
- Utilizes their knowledge and skill set to get the job done with pace.
