Material Handler Forklift Operator

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and pallet jacks, to efficiently load, unload, and transport materials within a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, materials handling, and OSHA safety standards. Prior experience in warehouse distribution, order picking, shipping & receiving, and warehouse management systems is highly valued. The Forklift Operator will play a vital role in ensuring smooth logistics operations and maintaining a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to load and unload goods
• Perform order picking and put away accuracy and other warehouse management systems
• Load and unload materials from trucks, containers, or storage areas with precision and safety compliance
• Assist in shipping & receiving processes to ensure accurate inventory movement
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs
• Follow OSHA safety guidelines and company policies to maintain a safe work environment
• Support warehouse distribution activities including materials handling and inventory management
• Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize storage space and workflow efficiency
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse work area

Skills

• Proven experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks
• Strong knowledge of warehouse distribution processes and materials handling techniques
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for order picking and inventory control
• Ability to perform lifting pushing or pulling of 10-50 pounds safely and efficiently
• Experience in shipping & receiving procedures and order fulfillment processes
• Excellent attention to detail for accurate order picking and inventory accuracy
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety protocols

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
