REQUIREMENTS:

1. Must have strong educational background and previous tutoring experience working with children, teenagers and adults.

2. Must be in possession of an online tutoring device such as Tablet, iPad or Wacom Tablet.

3. Reliable internet connection and technology: Since tutoring sessions are conducted online, you'll need a stable internet connection and access to a computer or device with video conferencing capabilities.

4. Patience and adaptability: Working with students online requires patience and the ability to adapt your teaching style to meet the needs of different learners.

5. Excellent communication skills: As an online tutor, you'll need to be able to clearly explain concepts and answer questions effectively using digital communication tools.

6. Must be comfortable tutoring online and in person

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized tutoring sessions for students in grades 4-12 in math and science subjects.
• Develop tailored lesson plans to meet the unique learning needs of each student.
• Foster a positive and engaging learning environment to encourage student participation.
• Communicate effectively with students and parents regarding progress and areas for improvement.
• Utilize classroom experience to implement effective teaching strategies and techniques.
• Monitor and assess student performance to adjust tutoring methods as necessary.

Job Types: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $26.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 25 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Vancouver, BC V6E 4G2: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

• Are you able to tutor Math and Sciences (including Chemistry, Biology, and Physics) up to Grade 12? Candidates MUST be proficient in all subject areas listed.
• Have you completed your high school (secondary school) education in Canada or the United States? (Required)

Please note: Candidates who completed high school outside of Canada or the U.S. are not eligible for this position. Even if you have completed post-secondary or graduate studies in Canada, you must have also completed high school in Canada or the U.S. to qualify.
