Mechanical Floor Quality Inspector

Job Summary

ExoTerra is microsatellite company specializing in solar electric propulsion systems and space exploration satellites. The company develops Hall Thrusters, propulsion modules, microsatellites and launch vehicle upper stages. We have been awarded multiple propulsion module and satellite contracts and are in need of a Quality Inspector to perform Receiving & Inspection of hardware and support assembly and maintenance of test equipment. Opportunities to support spacecraft hardware fabrication.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform Inspections and verifications of Production hardware during AI&T operations
  • Inspect hardware to insure it meets drawings, specifications and standards
  • Use digital CMM and other digital inspection machines to generate inspection reports
  • Use GD&T knowledge to inspect parts and assemblies to verify it meet requirements
  • Perform inspections on incoming hardware and produce full inspection reports
  • Issue non-conformances for disposition of hardware failing inspection
  • Support assembly, installation and annual maintenance of test equipment
  • Inspect ESD components to ensure compliance with JST-001 and IPC-620
  • Other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications and Skills

  • 5 to 15 years experience
  • IPC 620 Certified
  • J-STD-001 Certified
  • 5 years experience with ESD assemblies
  • Attention to detail
  • CMM and Vision Machine Experience
  • Ability to interpret Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
  • Familiar with AS9100D standards
  • Microsoft Office
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to follow verbal and written commands
  • Able to lift 50 lbs
  • Able to climb a 13' ladder
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Authorized to work in the United States


Schedule

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Some weekend work maybe required


Desired Skills

  • Experience with Spacecraft Fabrication and Test is a bonus
  • Experience with non-conformance resolution
  • NASA Certifications for soldering, crimping & harnesses
  • Experience with harness fabrication
  • Good time management skills

Job Type: Full-time

Wage: $27-40/hr. Pay negotiable depending on experience.
