Medicaid Billing Specialist

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Billing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing and coding, with a concentration on medicaid billing with expertise in various coding systems such as DRG, CPT, ICD-9, and ICD-10. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate billing processes and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. The Billing Specialist will work closely with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to facilitate timely and accurate billing.

Duties

• Process and review medical claims for accuracy and completeness.
• Utilize DRG, CPT coding, ICD-9, and ICD-10 to ensure proper billing.
• Manage medical collections by following up on outstanding claims and payments.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology and coding practices.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies.
• Utilize EMR and EHR systems for efficient record keeping and data management.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations related to medical records and billing practices.
• Provide exceptional customer service to patients regarding their billing inquiries.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in medical billing and coding is required.
• Familiarity with DRG, CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and general medical coding practices.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare regulations.
• Experience working in a medical office setting is preferred.
• Proficiency in using EMR and EHR systems for managing patient information.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.

Pay: $22.68 - $27.32 per hour
