The Neurosurgical & Spine Institute of Savannah is looking for a positive and experienced Medical Assistant to assist our team in providing compassionate care to our patients and their families. Daily Tasks May Include:
- Preparing patient charts for upcoming appointments to include secure any documents or images needed from the hospital or referring facility as needed for coordination of care.
- Obtaining and recording vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, respiration and temperature)
- Updating patient records based on changes to medications and health history between visits
- Assisting provider in carrying out and documenting next steps in the patient's plans of care
- Scheduling follow up patient appointments as needed
- Ordering any tests or medications as requested by the treating provider
- Processing referrals for therapy, imaging, DME, home care, and/or other providers
- Responding to patient questions and concerns
Skills/Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program OR current Medical Assistant certification
- Three (3) years of previous medical office experience, preferred
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working within multiple software systems including EHR, PM, PACS and Microsoft Office
