Medical Assistant Program Support Instructor

American Training Center is looking for a Medical Assistant Program Support Instructor — a dynamic, student-focused professional who will play a vital role across our campuses in Cherry Hill, NJ, and Philadelphia, PA. Job Summary:
This position supports our Medical Assisting program through substitute teaching, tutoring, lab assistance, outreach events, and professional skills workshops. You will work closely with lead instructors, students, and staff to ensure a positive, engaging learning environment. Over time, this role is positioned to grow into a full instructor position.

Reports To:
Program Director

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide substitute instruction for Medical Assistant classes at all ATC sites.
  • Conduct one-on-one and small-group tutoring sessions to support student success.
  • Assist in lab sessions, helping students strengthen their clinical skills.
  • Facilitate group presentations and professional skills workshops.
  • Represent ATC at outreach events and career fairs.
  • Maintain classroom order while fostering a welcoming, encouraging atmosphere.
  • Perform administrative duties as assigned.
  • Travel regularly between ATC locations: Cherry Hill, NJ; 3600 Market St., Philadelphia; and 2800 N. American St., Philadelphia.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong phlebotomy and clinical skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Comfortable with diverse populations and varied learning styles.
  • Capable of managing classroom behavior and creating a positive learning environment.
  • Knowledge of adult learning methods and instructional best practices (preferred).

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree and teaching experience preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting.
  • Ability and willingness to travel between all ATC sites.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $28.00 per hour

Expected Hours: 37.5 per week

Schedule:

  • Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
  • Occasional evening substitute teaching as needed (5:30pm-9:30pm)
  • No weekends
