Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller and credentialler to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the billing process for medical services, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations, and maintaining credentialling for all employees. This position requires expertise in medical coding and billing practices, as well as familiarity electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Duties
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies and follow up on any outstanding claims or denials.
- Manage medical collections by contacting patients regarding unpaid bills and negotiating payment plans when necessary.
- Maintain detailed records of all billing activities, including payments received and outstanding balances.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in patient records or billing information.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards related to medical billing and coding.
- Utilize EHR systems effectively to streamline the billing process and maintain accurate patient information.
- Stay updated on changes in medical terminology, coding practices, and insurance policies to ensure best practices are followed.
- Credential new employees with all insurance contracts
- Maintain CAQH for all employees
- Oversee licensure requirements and updates for all employees
Requirements
- Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or collections within a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, DRG, CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and general medical office procedures.
- Familiarity with EHR systems is essential for efficient workflow management.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills to identify discrepancies in billing processes.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining accuracy.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
