Job Title: Medical Billing Specialist

Job Summary:
We are looking for a Medical Billing Specialist to help ensure accurate billing and financial transparency for patients. This role involves working closely with patients, healthcare teams, and third-party partners to provide clear cost estimates, collect payments, and guide patients through their financial responsibilities related to medical care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide and explain cost estimates for self-pay and insurance-covered services.
• Interview patients to collect financial and demographic information, especially for self-pay or high-risk cases.
• Assist patients in applying for financial assistance or charity care if needed.
• Educate patients on their insurance benefits and what costs they may need to cover.
• Document all patient interactions and billing updates in the system.
• Offer financing options like CareCredit to patients.
• Contact patients with unpaid balances, especially those scheduled for upcoming procedures.
• Collect and reconcile patient payments daily.
• Help with scheduling diagnostic or surgical procedures and explain them when needed.
• Work with vendors and agencies to explore all payment options before charity write-offs.
• Respond to price estimate requests within 48 business hours.
• Follow HIPAA guidelines during patient interviews and verify insurance coverage.
• Stick to approved scripts for all patient conversations and refer medical questions to clinical staff.

Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of billing processes, insurance rules, and reimbursement guidelines.
• Experience using billing software and payment tools.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Familiarity with commercial and government insurance plans.
• Basic phone and office communication skills.
• Understanding of medical terms, codes (ICD-10/CPT), and insurance procedures.
• Team player with a positive and cooperative attitude.

Schedule:
On-site position | Night Shift

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Php30,000.00 - Php35,000.00 per month
