Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will help serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a smooth and efficient clinic operation. Your expertise in medical administrative support, familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and strong communication skills will help facilitate accurate documentation, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and patient service. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and manage front desk operations with professionalism and courtesy
- Schedule appointments efficiently using EMR system
- Manage patient records by filing, faxing medical records, updating electronic health records (EHR), and ensuring HIPAA compliance
- Handle phone inquiries with excellent phone etiquette across multi-line phone systems
- Support clinical staff by preparing care plans, reviewing documentation and scheduling outside testing for the patients
- Maintain accurate medical records using software
- Prior experience working in a medical office setting is a must
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, CPT coding, and medical billing practices
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Proven ability to multitask efficiently in a busy clinic environment while maintaining attention to detail. Pay: $22.76 - $24.41 per hour
