Medical Receptionist/Administrator

This role is in addition to recently recruited staff as another position is needed to support recent rapid growth within the practice.

This role offers an opportunity for a successful candidate to join a rapidly expanding GP practice in the suburbs of Limerick as it increases the range of services offered to our existing patients and to new patients. The successful candidate will join Dr Brian McEllistrem, Dr Muireann Clifford and a wider administrative and clinical team in delivery high quality community based care in Mungret.

The role advertised will have administrative responsibilities primarily. With clinical responsibilities possible to come online at a later date possibly. This is an entry position and salary range of is €15.68 - 19.78/hr, or €26,156.74 to €32,996.20 per year, dependent on experience (32.08 hours a week on average over three week rolling rota, some weeks required for cross cover with additional pay and annual leave allowance). Training and upskilling will be available if needed, however relevant previous experience would generally be required.

  • Full Irish driver’s license and own car or similar.
  • Proficiency with IT including Office 365, Zoom.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Excellent time keeping and attention to detail.
  • High level of Confidentiality in relation to all records.
  • Participation in the ongoing professional development requirements of the practice.

Administrative Responsibilities;

  • Maintaining a high standard of patient and client care at all times
  • Triaging appointments, via phone call and in person.
  • Managing appointments.
  • Interacting publicly at reception.
  • Coding healthcare records.
  • Managing prescription requests.
  • Record keeping.
  • Stock management.
  • Liaising with external contractors.
  • PCRS submission and tracking of STC payments.
  • Bookkeeping and billing.
  • Timely posting of samples/transfer to local laboratory.
  • And similar tasks.

It is not envisaged that these will be needed at commencement of the post, but may be needed a later date - clinical responsibilities (training available if required);

  • Phlebotomy (taking blood samples)
  • Blood pressure checking.
  • Height and weight checking.
  • ECG completion.
  • And similar tasks.

Hours of work;

Week One of Three on ROLLING ROTA (35 hours);

  • Monday - 8:45-17:30
  • Tuesday - usually a day off; but may need to work if others on annual leave, sick leave etc. (extra pay as per hourly rate).
  • Wednesday - 8:45-17:30
  • Thursday - 8:45-17:30
  • Friday - 8:45-17:30

Week Two of Three on ROLLING ROTA (35 hours);

  • Monday - 8:45-17:30
  • Tuesday - 8:45-17:30
  • Wednesday - 8:45-17:30
  • Thursday - usually a day off; but may need to work if others on annual leave, sick leave etc. (extra pay as per hourly rate).
  • Friday - 8:45-17:30

Week Three of Three on ROLLING ROTA (26.25 hours);

  • Monday - usually a day off; but may need to work if others on annual leave, sick leave etc. (extra pay as per hourly rate).
  • Tuesday - 8:45-17:30
  • Wednesday - 8:45-17:30
  • Thursday - 8:45-17:30
  • Friday - usually a day off; but may need to work if others on annual leave, sick leave etc. (extra pay as per hourly rate).

Occasional evenings and weekends may be required infrequently.

Offsite locations

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday as per Rota Above

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (required) and own car/transport.
