Medical Reimbursement Specialist

Harmony Medical seeks a highly motivated individual to join the Medical Billing team at our Ellicott City office. Position is full-time with a starting salary of $21-$25

Experience working complex claim denials required, and experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred: Medical Billing, Coding, ERA / EOB Posting, Charge Posting.

Responsibilities:

· Review all denied EOB/ERA and determine best resolution to ensure claim is paid

· Document each patient denial and maintain daily/monthly denial Excel reports

· Monitor denials for posting, coding, timely filing, provider credentialing, PACOS, CAQH issues; identify specific issues and make correction

· Communicate with insurance companies regarding each denied or unpaid claim to determine explanation and corrective action; appeal claim denials with specific insurance payers

· Correct and resubmit any claims with coding/demographic/payer errors

· Generate and print weekly patient statements for billing

· Coordinate with hospital Billing and Admission department to obtain accurate registration, insurance, and billing information on emergency and acute admitted patients

· Update changes to specific patient insurance policy and registration information

· Maintain weekly AR Reports

· Identify unpaid claims by patient/payer, develop and implement corrective action as needed on each unpaid claim

· Generate, print and mail paper claim forms for any payers not accepting electronic submission'
