Medical Surgical Registered Nurse

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Medical/Surgical unit. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and demonstrate proficiency in various nursing practices. This role requires the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care to patients with diverse medical needs.

Duties

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Monitor vital signs and respond promptly to changes in patient conditions.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health management.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Perform procedures such as IV insertion, catheterization, and wound care.
• Utilize EMR systems effectively for documentation and communication.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to NCQA standards.

Experience
Candidates should have experience in a variety of healthcare settings, including but not limited to:

• Medical-surgical nursing
• Critical care experience (ICU or ER)
• Long-term care, assisted living, or nursing home experience
• Familiarity with Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks EMR systems
• Knowledge of ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding for accurate medical documentation
• Experience working with diverse populations, including pediatrics, geriatrics, and individuals with developmental disabilities
• Proficiency in acute pain management, infection control, and emergency medicine practices

Ideal candidates will also have exposure to specialized areas such as hospice & palliative medicine, trauma medicine, outpatient services, or behavioral health. A commitment to continuous professional development is essential for success in this role.

Pay: $2,500.00 - $3,500.72 per week
