Meditech Ehr Integration Specialist

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and support HL7 v2.x interfaces (ADT, ORM, DFT, SIU, ORU, BAR) for Meditech environments.
• Develop and manage data integration between Meditech modules (Admissions, Registration, Scheduling, Billing, Clinicals).
• Collaborate with teams using interface engines (Mirth Connect, Rhapsody, Cloverleaf) to build and monitor message flows.
• Troubleshoot interface issues, analyze HL7 message logs, and coordinate resolutions with hospital teams.
• Support integration testing, data mapping, and validation across Meditech and external RCM systems.
• Ensure all integrations comply with HIPAA, PHI security, and U.S. healthcare data privacy standards.
• Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for interfaces, mapping, and message specifications.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years hands-on experience with Meditech HCIS / MAGIC / Expanse.
• Strong understanding of HL7 v2.x, ADT/ORM/DFT/SIU message structures, and FHIR exposure.
• Familiarity with Meditech NPR / SQL data layer and report writing.
• Experience with interface engines such as Mirth Connect or Rhapsody.
• Understanding of hospital workflows, registration, billing, and clinical documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for interface debugging.
• Working knowledge of HIPAA and secure health data exchange
• Preferred / Nice to Have
• Experience with Meditech Expanse web services / API integrations.
• Exposure to EDI transactions (270/271, 835/837).
• Experience integrating Meditech with third-party RCM, lab, or pharmacy systems.
• Familiarity with FastAPI, Python, or Node.js for healthcare data handling.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent.
• HL7 / FHIR / HIPAA certification preferred.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
