Merchandising Operations Manager

The Merchandising Operations Manager will oversee the overall Merchandising Operations Department handling the merchandisers, coordinators, and back-end teams in ensuring that retail fundamentals and KPIs are met while developing a motivated team and helping to grow the Retail sales channel.

Responsibilities

  • People Management - Mentorship and development of the entire team to maximize their potential and keep them motivated in their duties and responsibilities.
  • Policy and Process Management - Strategy, implementation, and enforcement of in-store merchandising requirements, policies, and processes to ensure retail standards are met. Assessing, proposing, and improving these processes to maximize efficiency, productivity, and sales-generating activities
  • Manpower Recruitment - Working with our merchandising agency to ensure that merchandisers and coordinators are recruited in a timely manner and deployed to stores in the most optimal way.
  • Manpower Retention - Working with our merchandising agency and internal team to ensure that our merchandisers and coordinators are retained, trained, motivated, equipped, and incentivized to work while ensuring quality of work.
  • Quality Assurance - ensuring that retail fundamentals of each brand and category are met, including implementation of planograms, marketing initiatives, and optimized product placement.
  • On-ground/field Check - Conducting comprehensive trade visits to ensure quality of execution and spotting of opportunities on trade.
  • Data Analysis - Analyzing sales data (topline sales, returns, etc.) in relation to KPIs of each member of the team.

Objectives / Key Outcomes

  • Maximizing on shelf availability (OSA% hit)
  • Enforcement of retail standards (% implementation)
  • Minimizing RTV (%RTV reduction)

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in handling manpower, particularly merchandisers (at least 50 headcounts)
  • Genuine care for people
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Extensive knowledge of FMCG operations
  • Track record in strategic business relationship-building with major accounts to promote brand visibility and availability
  • Knowledgeable in key merchandising metrics and KPIs
  • Good understanding of customers' needs to identify opportunities to generate shopper offtake in the retail environment
  • Experience in tracking and measuring staff performance
  • Willing to work onsite in our Pasig City office
  • Proficient in in-store merchandising requirements, policies and processes
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of merchandising obligations and contract
