Performs basic patient cardiac rhythm assessments, identifies deviations, and documents responses to rhythm change interventions.

- Demonstrates knowledge of lead functions and application, able to make recommendations for best monitoring lead based on patient presentation
- Records and saves cardiac rhythm strips at start of every shift and every four hours or as needed and during emergencies
- Records rate, rhythm, PR, ORS, QT intervals and assigns interpretation.
- Works with team during both admissions and transfers to maintain monitored status; obtains baseline data within ten minutes of admission or return to unit
- Posts telemetry strips on patient records in an accurate and timely fashion; assures 100% accuracy with patient identification protocols when posting strips and other patient information in the medical records.
- Performs related duties as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses: American Heart Association BLS CPR required, must be obtained within 7 days of hire. Successful annual completion of Basic Rhythm Competency.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 to 2 years of job-related experience preferred.
