Your Impact
As the National Account Manager – Independents, you will play a critical role in driving growth across the independent retail channel within the Metcash network. You will lead the commercial strategy and execution across key beverage categories, working closely with internal teams and external partners to deliver profitable growth and strong in-market activation. This role is responsible for building strategic partnerships, identifying new opportunities across the independent channel, and ensuring the successful execution of customer plans that grow the total beverages portfolio.
Key Accountabilities
Strategic & Commercial Delivery
- Develop and execute best in class activations aligned to Asahi & Metcash strategic priorities
- Commercial delivery of core business as well as identifying and commercializing incremental, profitable volume opportunities
- Influence internal and external stakeholders to drive alignment and execution
Top 5 Key Accountabilities
- Meeting volume and profit targets
- Effective management of trade investments and spend in line with budgets
- Building and maintenance of first class, easy to do business with relationships with stakeholders
- Partner with category, revenue management and marketing to deliver data led customer plans working closely to deliver aligned customer outcomes
- Monitor competitor activity and take relative action to ensure Asahi continues to grow ahead of category
About You
- Experience in FMCG sales, account management or commercial roles
- Demonstrated experience managing key retail or wholesale customers, ideally within grocery or independent channels
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, trade investment and delivering profitable growth
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence both internal and external partners
- Ability to analyse data and market insights to develop effective customer strategies
- Proven track record of delivering against sales, volume and profitability targets
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with a collaborative working style
- Proactive and entrepreneurial, with a strong ability to uncover and commercialise new growth opportunities
