Position Summary
The New Truck Sales Manager is a key leadership role responsible for driving new truck sales performance, developing a high-performing sales team, and growing market share across Rihm Kenworth’s territory. This role owns the day-to-day leadership of the new truck sales department and plays a critical part in shaping sales strategy, customer relationships, and OEM alignment.
This position is ideal for a confident, relationship-driven leader who understands the heavy-duty truck business, enjoys coaching sales professionals, and wants to help lead a respected dealership into its next phase of growth.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
1. Sales Leadership and Strategy
- Lead, coach, and develop the New Truck Sales team to achieve volume, gross profit, and market share goals
- Establish clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards for the sales team
- Drive disciplined pipeline management, forecasting, and execution across all sales opportunities
- Partner with executive leadership to align sales strategy with company goals and OEM expectations
2. Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key fleet, vocational, and retail customers
- Support major account strategy, negotiations, and long-term customer planning
- Ensure a professional, consistent, and high-value customer experience from first contact through delivery
- Reinforce follow-up discipline and CRM usage to support customer retention and growth
3. Sales Performance Management
- Monitor sales metrics, forecasts, margins, and order activity to drive consistent results
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, deal reviews, and performance coaching with sales team members
- Identify performance gaps and implement training, coaching, or process improvements as needed
- Prepare and present sales performance updates to senior leadership
4. Inventory & Order Management
- Oversee new truck ordering strategy, stock levels, and allocations to balance availability and floorplan exposure
- Maintain pricing discipline and margin expectations across all deals
- Coordinate closely with Used Truck Sales, Finance, Leasing, Rental, Service, and Parts to ensure smooth transactions and deliveries
5. OEM & Vendor Relations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Kenworth new truck sales operations
- Manage OEM relationships related to forecasting, specifications, incentives, and programs
- Stay current on Kenworth product updates, market trends, and competitive offerings
- Collaborate with OEM representatives on sales initiatives, training, and marketing efforts
6. Collaboration & Communication
- Work cross-functionally with service, parts, leasing, finance, and corporate teams to drive dealership success
- Communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams, customers, and OEM partners
- Contribute to management meetings, planning sessions, and strategic initiatives

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing, or related field, or equivalent industry experience
- Minimum 5 years of heavy-duty truck sales experience
- Prior sales leadership or management experience strongly preferred
- Experience with Kenworth or other premium OEM brands
- Familiarity with CDK, DECISIV, and PACCAR OEM systems
- CDL Class A or B preferred but not required
