Night Operations Manager

- Full Time
Got it. Here’s a straight-talking, professional, no-nonsense job post that says exactly what you want—without the fluff, and without the HR waffle.
The Role
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows how to run a busy late-night venue properly.
You are not here to “reimagine the business”. You are here to run the night operation exactly to management standards, lead the team, keep standards high, and keep everything tight, clean, compliant, and under control.
This is a role for someone who cares about detail, procedure, discipline, and performance. You set the tone. You keep people accountable. You don’t let standards slide.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and control the full night-time operation (floor + bar)
- Manage staff performance, behaviour, and standards on shift
- Enforce procedures, service standards, and operating systems
- Deal with customer issues calmly, firmly, and professionally
- Handle staff issues in real time and keep the team focused and productive
- Be the main point of contact on duty for any operational issues
- Ensure smooth closes, proper cash handling, and secure lock-up
- Report issues, incidents, and performance back to senior management
- Constantly raise standards — service, speed, cleanliness, discipline, execution
What We’re Looking For
- Proven management experience in busy, late-night hospitality venues (bars, clubs, high-volume venues)
- Someone who is firm, fair, and consistent
- Highly organised, detail-focused, and process-driven
- Comfortable leading teams and holding people accountable
- Not afraid to make decisions, correct behaviour, and enforce standards
- Reliable, professional, and takes ownership of their shifts
- Not a “passenger” — you lead from the front
This is not a role for:
- First-time managers
- People who want an easy ride
- People who struggle with pressure, standards, or late nights
- People who want to “find their feet”
This is a role for:
- Someone serious about their career
- Someone who thrives in busy, high-standard environments
- Someone who takes pride in running a tight operation
The Reality of the Job
- Late nights are part of the deal (Thursday–Saturday to close, approx. 4am)
- You are expected to run the shift, not just be on it
- You are expected to lead, not babysit
- You are expected to protect standards and performance at all times
What Success Looks Like
- The venue runs smoothly when you’re on
- Staff know what’s expected and deliver it
- Problems are handled fast and properly
- Standards stay high, even when it’s busy
- Senior management can trust that nights are being run correctly
