Overnight Caregiver (10PM – 7AM) – Full Time

Facility Type: Licensed Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE)
Schedule: Full-Time, Overnight (10:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate (DOE)

Position Summary

We’re seeking a dependable and caring Overnight Caregiver to join our nighttime team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys quiet overnight hours and takes pride in maintaining a calm, clean, and secure environment while providing high-quality care and support to our residents.

Responsibilities

Resident Care

• Provide personal care, including toileting, incontinence care, changing, and repositioning.
• Conduct regular resident safety checks (every 2 hours or as per care plan).
• Respond promptly to resident needs and call lights.
• Document care provided, incidents, and observations accurately.
• Follow residents’ individualized care plans and report any changes to the Administrator.
• Assist residents with morning routines and transitions at the end of shift.

Housekeeping & Facility Support

• Keep resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas clean and sanitized.
• Perform housekeeping and laundry duties during quiet hours.
• Maintain a clean, odor-free, and organized facility throughout the night.
• Restock supplies (linens, gloves, toiletries, etc.) and complete nightly cleaning checklists.

Safety & Compliance

• Adhere to all Title 22 RCFE regulations and Coastal Haven Living policies.
• Perform security checks and ensure all doors, alarms, and emergency systems are functioning.
• Report incidents, hazards, or changes in resident condition promptly.
• Follow all emergency procedures and infection control guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Experience: At least 6 months in caregiving, preferably in an RCFE, assisted living, or memory care setting.
• Certifications Required:
• Current CPR & First Aid certification
• Live Scan background clearance (Department of Social Services)
• Health screening & TB test within the past year
• Preferred:
• Medication training or familiarity with MAR documentation
• Must be dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently overnight.
• Must be able to lift, transfer, and reposition residents safely (up to 50 lbs).
• English fluency required; bilingual a plus.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.
• Exposure to household cleaning products and bodily fluids (PPE provided).
• Ability to stay alert and responsive during the entire overnight shift.
