About the Role

As a Nurse Practitioner you will work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary model to provide advanced clinical expertise and leadership in the provision of health care to turoro/patients. This role will provide patient-focused care and coordination that will optimise the patient journey and improve health outcomes.

About the Team/Service/Location

The Community Mental Health service provides community-based assessment and treatment services to people, including those presenting with alcohol and drug issues, through both community follow-up and outpatient clinics. This service also provides the crisis response for mental health, dual diagnosis and clinical rehabilitation.

About you

Working with a passionate, multi-disciplinary team who place great value on putting people first, you will have the standard of clinical practice and expertise necessary to effectively provide for tāngata whaiora and whānau needs within the service here in Northland.

Key requirements:

  • New Zealand registered Nurse Practitioner with a current practicing certificate
  • Experience in mental health nursing, preferably in a community setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Current full driver's licence
  • Knowledge and/or experience working with people who have coexisting mental health and substance use problems
