Optometric Assistant/ Reception

Our clinic is looking for an enthusiastic, positive individual to join our optometric team!

We are looking for an individual to:

• greet patients

• answer phone calls

• schedule appointments with an electronic health record system

• obtain personal health information in a confidential, efficient and accurate manner

• verify SK health card numbers

• perform confirmation calls and recalls

• check emails

We are also looking for some additional help in our optical, which may require some frame styling as needed (this includes performing glasses adjustments, utilizing your "flare for fashion" when picking out frames with patients and taking accurate and precise measurements for ordering lenses).

The successful candidate is also willing to perform basic cleaning throughout the clinic (wiping counter tops, vacuuming, mopping the floors, cleaning the bathroom/ staff room and tidying the optical) and overall keeping the office sanitary and inviting. As the candidate increases competency, they may perform pre-testing for the optometrist. On-the-job training will be provided for all industry specific tasks but previous experience with an optometrist or optical is an asset.

We are specifically looking for coverage Tuesday to Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm. The starting salary for this position is $18.50 to $22.00/ hour.
