Optometric Assistant/Receptionist

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Optometric Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care and eye health, with experience in medical office or retail settings. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment that focuses on providing exceptional eye care services.

Duties:

- Assist optometrists with patient care procedures
- Perform preliminary tests on patients such as visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception
- Maintain accurate patient records in electronic medical records (EMR) system
- Billing OHIP and referrals
- Handle front desk duties including scheduling appointments and verifying insurance coverage

-Maintaining office
- Support optical sales by recommending appropriate products based on patient needs

Qualifications:

- Experience in a medical office or retail setting, preferably in optometry or ophthalmology
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye care
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems, experience with Epic is a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to provide excellent patient care
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Interest in pediatric eye care is desirable
