Panel Beater

MECHANIXGARAGE LIMITED, based in Christchurch, Canterbury, is a dedicated automotive service provider known for reliable and efficient service. We specialise in fitting and replacing motor vehicle parts and accessories and maintaining vehicles in top condition. As our business grows, we are looking for TWO experienced Panel Beaters to join our team. This is a full-time (30-45 hours per week), permanent-ongoing position.

Key Details:

• Hourly rate: $27-$35 per hour, depending on your experience
• Hours: 30-45 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Job Accountabilities:

• Remove and replace damaged panels and components, ensuring a precise fit and finish.
• Use appropriate tools and techniques to perform repairs on various vehicle makes and models.
• Perform metal and plastic repairs using a variety of techniques and tools.
• Work with paint technicians to ensure proper preparation and refinishing of repaired areas.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and repair guides.
• Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standards of quality and safety.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to company policies and industry standards.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of repairs.

Requirements for Panel Beater:

• We prefer if you have 3 years experience in panel beating and/or collision repair but this is not a must.
• Alternatively, we prefer if you have relevant qualifications or certifications (NZ/AU Level 3 or 4) in automative collision repair and refinishing, or automative engineering.
• If you have both formal training background and work experience as above-mentioned, you are the one we are looking for!
• Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to quality.
• Comprehensive industry knowledge and understanding.
• Positive attitude with a strong work ethic.
• Team-oriented with a good sense of humor.
• Valid New Zealand driver’s license (Restricted or Full).
• Comfortable driving manual transmission vehicles.
• Strong reliability and work ethic.
• Positive, self-motivated, and punctual.
• Eager to pursue personal development.
• Refer if you can drive manual cars.
