Temporary Dental Assistant (6-Weeks with Potential for Permanent Role)
Join our team as a part-time Temporary Dental Assistant to provide critical coverage for 6 weeks. Show us your dedication and skill, and this contract could easily turn into a permanent position! High flexibility to take on additional shifts and expand hours as necessary is a must.
You will play a crucial role in delivering excellent patient care and seamlessly assisting our dental professionals with various procedures. We seek a detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for patient well-being.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment, ensuring they are sterilized and ready for use.
- Take X-rays as directed by the dentist, adhering to safety protocols.
- Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant information in medical records.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
- Manage appointment scheduling and patient follow-ups to ensure optimal patient flow.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Support the front office staff as needed, including managing patient intake and insurance verification.
Requirements
- Relevant training and/or previous experience in dental assisting is required.
- Knowledge of dental implant, endodontic, oral surgery, and denture procedures and the use of Open Dental Software is a plus.
- Familiarity with anatomy knowledge related to dental health and prosthodontics is advantageous.
- Proficiency in medical imaging techniques and handling dental records is required.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Pay: $23.31 - $28.00 per hour
