Part-Time Front Desk Receptionist

Listing:

Established dermatology practice seeking a highly motivated individual to assist with clerical duties. The ideal candidate must be a self-motivated ‘people person’ with a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to pitch in and ‘wear different hats’ if needed. Experience as a receptionist in a medical practice is required.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting with check-in and checkout; scheduling patients over the phone; verifying insurance eligibility and benefits; collecting co-payments and outstanding balances; scheduling referrals and notifying referring providers; assisting with retail product sales; and returning patient phone calls.

Requirements:

• High school diploma
• Excellent communications skills with colleagues and patients
• Ability to adapt and excel in fast-paced clinical environment
• High degree of comfort with computers; typing proficiency

Benefits:

• Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:45 a.m. – 12 p.m.
• Part-time, hourly position
• Potential for expansion into full-time role

Administrative duties include, but not limited to:

• Answering practice phone calls
• Scheduling patient visits
• Coordinating referrals, including scheduling and notifying referring providers’ offices
• Verifying insurance eligibility and benefits
• Collecting co-pays and bills, and handling patient receipts
• Managing medical records according to HIPAA guidelines
• Assisting with retail product inventory and sales
• Assisting with MIPS compliance by obtaining necessary paperwork from patients
• Scanning new patient paperwork, referrals and other documents and uploading to electronic medical record
• Maintaining an orderly and clean work and patient care environment

Pay: $12.00 - $18.00 per hour

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Medical terminology: 1 year (Preferred)
