Job Overview
Do not call our office. We will contact you if you match our criteria. Attendance is extremely important. Every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday are your work days. You will also receive 40 hours of PTO as an extra benefit.

We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of medical office operations, familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, and the ability to handle sensitive health information in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Prior clinic or medical office experience is highly preferred to ensure smooth coordination of patient care and administrative support.

Duties

  • Greet patients and visitors with professionalism and courtesy, ensuring a positive first impression
  • Schedule patient appointments using EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks
  • Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification procedures
  • Collect payments and process billing using medical billing and coding knowledge, including CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10 coding
  • Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation review for compliance and accuracy
  • Handle multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette and assist with patient inquiries
  • Prepare and update patient files, ensuring confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards
  • Assist with intake procedures, including medical history collection and documentation review
  • Support clinic operations by managing office supplies, filing, and data entry using Microsoft Office and other office management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers regarding care plans and documentation requirements
  • Ensure compliance with health information management protocols

Skills

  • Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix, Eaglesoft
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and medical billing practices
  • Experience with insurance verification processes and Medicare procedures
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone and in person
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively
  • Familiarity with dental terminology if working in a dental clinic environment
  • Strong computer skills including typing (10 key typing), Microsoft Office Suite, and health information management software
  • Ability to handle administrative tasks such as filing, documentation review, and office management efficiently
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times
  • Previous clinic or medical office experience preferred for seamless integration into healthcare workflows
