About the Role:
The Parts Associate plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of the parts department by managing inventory, assisting customers, and supporting service and sales teams. This position is responsible for accurately identifying, sourcing, and distributing automotive or equipment parts to meet customer and organizational needs. The Parts Associate will maintain organized stock levels, process orders, and provide expert advice on parts compatibility and availability. Success in this role contributes directly to customer satisfaction and the overall productivity of the service department. The Parts Associate acts as a key liaison between customers, suppliers, and internal teams to facilitate smooth parts transactions and timely service delivery.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of Powerwsoports, automotive or equipment parts and terminology.
- Experience with inventory management or point-of-sale systems.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Parts Associate or in a related role within the automotive or equipment industry.
- Familiarity with computerized parts catalog systems and ordering software.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and part numbers.
- Forklift certification or experience operating warehouse equipment.
- Additional training or certification in powersports,automotive technology or parts management.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and stock incoming parts shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Assist customers and service technicians in identifying and locating the correct parts for their needs.
- Process parts orders, returns, and exchanges using inventory management systems.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular stock audits to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
- Collaborate with suppliers to place orders and track deliveries to ensure timely availability of parts.
- Provide knowledgeable support and advice regarding parts specifications, compatibility, and usage.
- Ensure the parts department is clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
Skills:
The Parts Associate utilizes strong organizational skills daily to manage inventory accurately and maintain stock levels, ensuring parts are readily available when needed. Effective communication skills are essential for interacting with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to clarify parts requirements and resolve issues promptly.
