Party Host / Assistant

Seeking part‑time Party Assistants and Party Hosts for Glitters and Grace, our experiential party service and mobile perfume bar based in Chicago, IL. We host luxury kids’ parties (ages 8+), teen events, adult celebrations, weddings, bridal showers, corporate events, and large‑scale conferences across Chicagoland from the North Shore to the Southwest Suburbs to Northwest Indiana. This role is perfect for energetic individuals who thrive on creating joyful moments and enjoy working in lively environments. Part-time party assistants can grow into Party Leads with more responsibilities and party bookings.

About the Role

You’ll help support and host events, including:

• Kids’, teen, and adult parties
• DIY activities (perfume creation, lip balm & skincare crafting)
• Running the perfume bar and guiding guests through scent blending
• Pop‑ups, corporate events, and conferences

Responsibilities

• Reliably show up to parties booked throughout the Chicagoland area
• Engage with guests (kids, teens, adults) with a warm, glam‑forward presence
• Set up, load/unload, and break down event equipment (must lift ~50 lbs)
• Guide guests through perfume and skincare creation
• Assist with social media (photos, videos, content capture)
• Manage waivers, product, and event flow
• Follow direction, stay proactive, and maintain a polished appearance

Requirements

• Excellent customer‑facing skills
• Comfort working with children 8+ and teens
• Experience in events, retail, kids recreation, hospitality, or hostessing
• Reliable transportation & strong reliability overall
• Strong Conflict Management Skills
• Willingness to learn perfumery, skincare & cosmetic education
• Comfort traveling throughout Chicagoland
• Background check required (working with children)
• Fashion‑forward/glam presentation (all‑black attire)

Schedule & Pay

• Contract position (1099)
• As‑needed scheduling based on your availability
• Party Bookings are Seasonal - Some weeks there are 0 parties, other weeks there are 4 or 5.
• Evenings + weekends, with some weekday pop‑ups and corporate events
• Flat per‑party pay, based on event size (events range from 5 guests to 5,000+)
