Patient Care Coordinator/Front Desk – Obgyn

About Us

Nur Medical Group is a growing, patient-centered healthcare organization in San Jose specializing in Women’s Health (OBGYN) and Pediatrics. We are building a modern, efficient, and compassionate clinic focused on exceptional patient experience and operational excellence.

We are looking for a professional, experienced Patient Care Coordinator/Front Desk Lead to join our OBGYN division.

Duties

Front Office Support

  • Schedule appointments
  • Insurance verification
  • Collect copays and balances
  • Manage patient calls and messages
  • Support workflow efficiency
  • Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with appointment scheduling and check-in procedures.
  • Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently by documenting patient encounters, updating records, and ensuring data accuracy.
  • Coordinate patient follow-up appointments, lab tests, imaging (including X-ray), and referrals to specialists or hospital services as needed.
  • Assist with ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases) for diagnoses to facilitate billing and insurance processing.
  • Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Reactivation calls
  • Zocdoc management
  • Lead tracking
  • Same-day gap filling

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to obstetrics and gynecology.
  • Experience working in outpatient clinics or hospital settings with a focus on women’s health or related specialties such as geriatrics or medical-surgical units.
  • Proficiency with EHR systems and familiarity with ICD coding for accurate documentation.
  • Ability to perform basic life support (BLS) certification to respond effectively in emergency situations.
  • Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations.
  • Knowledge of intake procedures, vital signs measurement, medication administration, and patient education techniques.

Qualifications

  • 1–3+ years experience (OBGYN preferred)
  • Familiarity with Athenahealth or other EMR systems (preferred)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanor

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinic

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $26.24 - $31.61 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 32 per week

Work Location: In person
