Peer Support Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Peer Support Specialist to join our team. Responsibilities

• Provide support and guidance to clients dealing with addiction, mental health issues, or behavioral challenges.
• Conduct assessments to determine client needs and develop appropriate support plans.
• Utilize crisis intervention techniques to assist clients in distressing situations.
• Mentor clients by offering motivational interviewing and behavioral health strategies.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
• Maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress.
• Facilitate psychoeducation sessions or workshops focused on coping strategies and recovery.
• Stay informed about best practices in addiction counseling, mental health counseling, and social work.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of addiction counseling principles and practices.
• Proficiency in crisis management and intervention techniques.
• Experience in mentoring individuals through challenging situations.
• Familiarity with mental health counseling approaches and behavioral health strategies.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
