Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Peer Support Specialist to join our team. Responsibilities
- Provide support and guidance to clients dealing with addiction, mental health issues, or behavioral challenges.
- Conduct assessments to determine client needs and develop appropriate support plans.
- Utilize crisis intervention techniques to assist clients in distressing situations.
- Mentor clients by offering motivational interviewing and behavioral health strategies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress.
- Facilitate psychoeducation sessions or workshops focused on coping strategies and recovery.
- Stay informed about best practices in addiction counseling, mental health counseling, and social work.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of addiction counseling principles and practices.
- Proficiency in crisis management and intervention techniques.
- Experience in mentoring individuals through challenging situations.
- Familiarity with mental health counseling approaches and behavioral health strategies.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
