Position Summary

We are hiring Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to provide in‑home support to clients across Toronto, including York, Etobicoke, North York, and Downtown.

This role includes personal care, companionship, meal preparation, mobility assistance, and light housekeeping.

What You’ll Do
We are seeking motivated, compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to provide community-based home care services. This role involves assisting individuals with daily living activities, promoting independence, and enhancing quality of life within their own homes. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living, patient care, or senior care, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on clients’ well-being.

Duties

  • Provide personal care including bathing, grooming, and hygiene support
  • Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary
  • Support clients with medication reminders following prescribed instructions
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and preferences
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and laundry to maintain a safe environment
  • Monitor and report on clients’ health status and any changes in condition
  • Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being
  • Assist with medical appointments and coordinate care plans as needed
  • Support individuals with disabilities, dementia, or hospice needs with patience and respect
  • Etc.

Skills

  • Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care environments
  • Knowledge of patient care techniques and caregiving best practices
  • Experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring dementia or hospice care
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility support
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams while maintaining professional boundaries
  • Compassionate nature with a focus on empathetic caregiving
  • Ability to follow detailed care plans and medication protocols
  • Basic skills in meal preparation and light cleaning tasks
  • Flexibility to adapt to different client needs and schedules
  • The ability to travel between client locations
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, and written English)
  • The ability to work independently and as a part of an interdisciplinary team

Required Qualifications

  • Valid PSW Certificate from an Ontario‑approved program
  • CPR & First Aid (Level C)
  • Vulnerable Sector Check (within 6 months)
  • TB Test (1‑step or 2‑step)
  • Immunization record
  • COVID‑19 vaccination status
  • WHMIS & Worker Health and Safety Awareness
  • IPAC training
  • Compassion, competency, willingness to learn and grow as a professional in the industry

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with seniors

Availability Requirements

  • Days

Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
