Process Technician (Offshore Operator)

Embedded with an offshore operator, your typical roles and responsibilities are listed below. The expected core competencies include, but are not limited to the following:

• Start-up, operation and shut down of offshore process and utility plants
• Working knowledge of the Distributed Control System (DCS), Emergency Control System (ECS), and Fire & Gas System (FGS) would be considered a strong asset
• Working knowledge of local regulatory codes and practices
• Working knowledge of computers and computerized maintenance management systems
• Knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance practices
• Leadership and teamwork skills to support a team-based approach to construction and maintenance activities
• Understanding of the permit to work system
• Working knowledge of safety practices common to the industry
• Other training as deemed necessary by operator.

Professional Certification:

• Process / Chemical / Petroleum Technologist qualification or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Required Safety Training (may be provided if candidate does not have):
• Basic Survival Training (BST)
• Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S)
• Work Permit Training (WMS)
• Arc Flash
• Confined Space Entry
• Authorized Gas Tester
• Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) 2015
• Offshore Regulatory Awareness

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 7 months
