About the Role

Join us as a Procurement Category Manager, where you'll take charge of driving efficiencies and securing essential goods and services. Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, develop cutting-edge category management strategies, and ensure seamless availability to meet our company's ever-growing needs. Reporting to the Group Procurement Manager, you’ll join a team of nine procurement professionals (including Senior Category Managers, Category Managers, Specialists, and Engineers). Together, you’ll manage a diverse mix of portfolios and budgets, from manufacturing our Security and Animal Management technologies to indirect spend that supports the wider organisation. This is a newly created role.

Experience with offshore markets and the procurement of electronics is desirable. This role relates to Directs procurement, and category scope will be refined based on the preferred candidate’s skill set and fit within the current team.

As Part of #TeamGallagher you will

• Develop and implement category strategies, conduct market research, and ensure compliance with procurement policies
• Lead strategic sourcing processes, optimise costs, and drive continuous improvement
• Mitigate risks, monitor supplier performance, and provide performance insights for informed decision making

The Fit

We’re looking for a skilled procurement professional who combines technical expertise with strong commercial acumen and collaboration skills. The ideal candidate will bring both strategic thinking and hands-on execution capability.

Key Experience and Attributes for Success:

• Tertiary qualification in business, supply chain, or related field (CIPS/CPSM or advanced degree advantageous)
• Proven experience as a Procurement Category Manager in a large, complex organisation
• Strong knowledge of procurement principles, category markets, suppliers, and cost drivers
• Excellent negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills
• Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving ability
• Confident communicator with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
• ERP proficiency (SAP experience a plus)
• High integrity, results driven, and effective at prioritising in fast-paced environments
