Product Development Officer - Health And Wellness Category

The Product Development Officer is responsible for managing the full product lifecycle of health and wellness products—such as supplements, vitamins, glutathione, and functional food items—from concept to market launch. The role involves strong collaboration with external R&D, marketing, regulatory, and manufacturing teams to ensure the delivery of innovative, compliant, and high-quality products that align with consumer needs and brand strategy.

Role Objective:

To lead and support the development of science-based, innovative health products through market and scientific research, regulatory compliance, and External R&D coordination, driving growth and relevance in the health and wellness category.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Research & Development

• Initiate and oversee formulation development in collaboration with external R&D or third-party labs.
• Conduct ingredient research based on efficacy, safety, market trends, and regulatory viability.
• Review clinical studies and scientific journals to support product claims and positioning.
• Coordinate pilot testing, lab trials, and stability studies to ensure product safety, quality, and effectiveness.
• Analyze results from trials and provide insights for formulation optimization and cost-efficiency.
• Evaluate new delivery systems (e.g., capsules, powders, gummies, soft gels) and recommend application based on product goals.

2. Market & Competitor Analysis

• Perform in-depth trend analysis on the health, wellness, and nutraceutical markets.
• Benchmark product features, pricing, and claims against top competitors locally and globally.
• Identify consumer pain points and translate findings into product concepts or improvements.

3. Product Development & Innovation

• Develop and propose new product concepts backed by data and consumer insights.
• Collaborate with marketing to ensure alignment between product concepts and brand strategy.
• Define product specifications including active ingredients, dosage, format, and target benefits.

4. Regulatory & Documentation

• Ensure all formulations meet FDA/BFAD regulatory standards.
• Prepare technical documentation such as product dossiers, safety data sheets, and label copy.
• Coordinate product registration and licensing submissions with regulatory bodies.

5. Supplier & Manufacturer Coordination

• Source and evaluate raw materials, ingredients, and packaging options.
• Communicate with OEM/ODM partners for sample development and manufacturing capabilities.
• Conduct vendor audits or reviews to ensure compliance with quality standards.

6. Cross-Functional Project Management

• Develop and track product development timelines and key milestones.
• Facilitate communication among cross-functional teams (marketing, QA, procurement, supply chain).
• Ensure timely and successful product launch, from development to commercialization.

7. Quality & Compliance

• Support Quality Assurance in developing product quality standards and testing protocols.
• Address any product stability or quality concerns during and post-launch.

8. Launch Support

• Provide product briefings and training to internal stakeholders.
• Assist marketing with claims substantiation, educational materials, and regulatory-compliant messaging.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Nutrition, Food Technology, or a related field.
• Preferably with 2- 3 years of experience in product or R&D development for supplements or health products.
• Familiarity with FDA/BFAD regulations and product registration processes.
• Knowledgeable in ingredient sourcing, formulation chemistry, and nutritional science.
• Strong analytical skills and experience in handling product testing and stability studies.
• Excellent project management, documentation, and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Experience working with OEM/ODM or third-party manufacturers is a strong advantage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Php30,000.00 - Php50,000.00 per month
