Day to Day

The Relevance and Retrieval team develops advanced matching algorithms that power our recommendation pipeline, helping both job seekers and employers meet their hiring goals. As part of the Matching organization, we're spearheading Indeed's strategic evolution from a search-based platform to a sophisticated matching platform.

As Staff Product Scientist, you'll drive our team toward achieving this mission by defining and implementing strategies to build a world-class retrieval system. This position requires deep expertise in machine learning, large-scale recommendation systems, statistics, and natural language processing.

You'll give technical leadership to a small team of scientists, inspiring their enthusiasm for innovative work. Your daily responsibilities will include partnering with the product and engineering to identify the next product opportunities, use data extensively to influence business decisions and establish machine learning models/analyses enabling data driven strategies. You'll promote our team's work across the organization while serving as a data science resource whom others commend and emulate

Responsibilities

Leveraging an exceptional grasp of the product landscape, the candidate steers the team's technical vision and pinpoints key strategic growth areas.
Demonstrating experienced knowledge of the software, data, and data science systems in the product and how they interact with adjacent products.
Helping other product teams to solve significant technical or business problems within the area of expertise.
Represent Indeed at major Machine Learning conferences like NeurIPS, ICML, and ICLR.
Driving improvements to org processes, such as onboarding, interviewing, career pathing, and initiatives.
Working autonomously and with product management to prioritize and plan team's work items.
Communicating and partnering effectively with cross-functional teams, including product and engineering teams.

Skills/Competencies

We are looking for someone with a deep interest in solving business problems using data driven strategies. Someone who loves thought-provoking assignments is eager to learn, and wants to work with a variety of technologies to “help people get jobs”.

Bachelors in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related fields
5+ years of industry experience as a Data Scientist, or Statistician.
Loves thought-provoking assignments and is eager to learn.
Expertise in A/B testing and experimentation is required
Solid foundation in data science methods and technologies.
Able to influence technical direction and contribute to long-term planning.
Able to work effectively with other teams and mentoring colleagues.

The opportunity is open to lateral moves only and is not eligible for a compensation adjustment

Salary Range Transparency

Singapore - S$ 133,000 to S$ 193,000
