Production Manager (Industrial / High-Reliability Environment)
Location: Bologna area, Italy (on-site)
Contract: Full-time
Company Overview
On behalf of a well-structured multinational operating in the manufacturing of high-reliability components for industrial applications, we are looking for a Production Supervisor to lead a production department and ensure performance, quality, and safety within a process-driven environment.
Role Purpose
Ensure the successful execution of the production plan by coordinating people, priorities, and workflow, with a strong focus on productivity, scrap reduction, quality compliance, and HSE standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day shopfloor operations: priorities, deadlines, task allocation, and workforce organization.
- Monitor production progress, efficiency, and quality, acting quickly on bottlenecks and critical issues.
- Ensure strict adherence to procedures, work instructions, and traceability requirements.
- Track and improve department KPIs (e.g., output, efficiency, on-time delivery, scrap/rework), driving corrective and continuous improvement actions.
- Partner with internal functions (planning, quality, engineering/industrialization, supply chain/maintenance) to ensure smooth production flow.
- Support team performance through hands-on coaching, onboarding/training of new hires, and reinforcement of standards.
- Promote and enforce Health & Safety rules and internal policies.
- Interface, when required, with international stakeholders.
Requirements
- Technical background (engineering degree preferred).
- Proven experience as a Production Supervisor / Team Leader / Shift Supervisor / Department Supervisor in a structured manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with technical documentation and quality-driven processes.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, prioritization, and execution mindset.
- English (written and spoken) B2 level or higher.
Nice to Have
- Experience in high-reliability / regulated manufacturing environments.
- Exposure to continuous improvement (Lean, 5S, Kaizen) and KPI-driven management.
- Familiarity with ERP/MES or production tracking tools.
