Established in 1995, Tūwharetoa ki Kawerau Hauora provides top-notch health, education, and social services to all residents within the rohe of Tuwharetoa ki Kawerau and the Eastern Bay of Plenty.

He aha te tūnga | About the role
Due to an internal promotion, Tūwharetoa ki Kawerau Hauora are looking for a Programme Coordinator to help build the local labour force to bring to fruition the full potential of the Kawerau region, for the people and the rohe.

The Programme Coordinator will provide leadership and delivery of the Tō Ara Mahi Programme, ensuring quality training is planned and delivered in alignment with Rangatahi and employee goals and expectations. Comprising of project initiatives that support the Kawerau Pathways to Work plan, and underpinned by their tikanga values, this role will be rewarding and exciting.

Key responsibilities of the role include:
  • Programme management and coordination
  • Identify Rangatahi needs, and provide training support, mentoring and coaching
  • Develop and implement the Tō Ara Mahi programme
  • Foster strong networks with hapū, iwi, rangatahi groups, kura kaupapa Māori, health, and external agencies
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, local employers, agencies and community providers
  • Complete reporting requirements efficiently.

Nga pūkenga me whai | The successful candidate requirements:
  • Experience managing, teaching and working with Rangatahi
  • Understanding of employment pathways programme
  • Possess strong and effective communication skills
  • Previous experience working in a diverse organisation in a similar role
  • Strong understanding of TKKH and the Eastern Bay of Plenty communities
  • Current valid full drivers licence and first aid certificate
  • Proven leadership and coaching abilities
  • Excellent negotiation and advocacy skills
  • Experience de-escalating conflict situations
  • Strong relationship and network management
  • Organisational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Tertiary Qualification in Youth Work, Social Work is desirable but not essential
  • Understanding of tikanga Māori (desirable)

RECRUITMENT INFORMATION
Only applicants who are legally entitled to work in New Zealand (no visa restrictions) and currently reside in New Zealand and have New Zealand experience working with youth or in social work will be considered for this advertised position.
