The Innovation and Technology Department - is offering Internship employment opportunities as a Programmer Analyst 1 Intern (PeopleSoft) to work with the PeopleSoft Finance Information Systems team.
As the Programmer Analyst 1 – Intern (PeopleSoft), you will:
- Perform operational duties and other related departmental end user support of all modules within the PeopleSoft Finance application (General Ledger, Commitment Control, Purchasing, Inventory, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Budget) that are sustained by the division.
- Perform problem identification and analysis, troubleshoot functional issues or re-direct more complex issues to the appropriate PeopleSoft Finance Functional Coordinator for resolution.
- Meet with subject matter experts, technical staff, and other stakeholders through interviews, workshops, and review of existing documentation/procedures to understand, document, and communicate functional operational requirements.
- Retrieve financial data through query tools or SQL, with the ability to use advanced Excel skills to summarize data.
- Update and develop draft manuals and training material in preparation for training.
- Perform ERP security work to maintain finance system security roles and add/lock out users.
- Other duties as assigned consistent with the job classification.
Your education and qualifications include:
- Successful completion of at least 1 year of a recognized university/college program in Information Systems and Technology, or equivalent.
- Progressive experience in PeopleSoft Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Finance application functional support role, or similar ERP Finance application would be an asset.
- Experience with and/or knowledge of the applicable specific Finance business functions and business systems analysis.
- Experience in advanced technologies of MS Excel (i.e. Pivot tables, look-up functions).
- Ability to conduct research, develop plans, analyze workflow/data, design roadmaps, system configuration, create and perform test plans, train users on implemented solutions and tools.
- Ability to investigate, evaluate and resolve a wide variety of software related issues.
- Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to teach/train/present technical information to individuals of varying technical ability.
- Ability to effectively plan and organize work, meet frequent, multiple and conflicting deadlines, and to work with minimum supervision.
- Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgement in fast paced environment as well as independently learn and adapt to a changing technological development and operating environment.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization and external contacts.
- A positive "can-do" attitude, and an eagerness to learn and implement new technologies, PeopleSoft based frameworks and design methodologies.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform would be an asset.
